New to the California Elementary School this year is seventh grade English teacher Mona Berry. In addition to regular classroom teaching, she is a member of both the Technology Committee and the Social Committee. She is also a former rugby player.
Originally from Fredricksburg, Va., Berry is a graduate of Longwood University in Farmville, Va. Berry earned a degree in liberal studies, concentration in education grades K-8.
She then gained 15 years of teaching experience at Gayle Middle School, Stafford, Va.
Berry now lives in Jefferson City and is married to Steven Spayde.
She enjoys watching football, especially the Washington Redskins.
