Ashley Benny, Mainstreet Bank assistant vice president for Cooper County and manager for the Prairie Home and Bunceton branches, started at the Bunceton branch as a teller her junior year in high school. After high school Benny continued being a teller while in college where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science with minors in personal finance and forages.
After graduating college December 2006, Benny was offered the managerial position at the newly acquired Prairie Home branch which had been a Citizens' Bank and Trust previously. She accepted and later accepted the expanded role of managing both the Prairie Home and Bunceton branches after the manager at Bunceton retired. In May, Benny will have worked for Mainstreet Bank for 10 years with five of those being as a manager.
"I love what I do and the customers," Benny said. "I farm on the side with my father and grandfather. We have cattle which I think helps me serving customers in Prairie Home and Bunceton as a majority of our customers are farmers. It helps me understand what they are talking about. I have worked on the farm and I know the educated side of farming which is different than the practical side."
