BIERI
Florence I. Bieri, 73, of California, Mo. passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at the Tipton Oak Manor in Tipton, Mo.
She was born November 21, 1938, in Excelsior, Mo., the daughter of Charles and Mary Gladys (Grant) Garber. She was a 1956 graduate of Tipton High School. She was united in marriage on May 20, 1956 in Tipton, Mo., to Paul H. Bieri whom preceded her in death on September 2, 1996.
Florence was a real estate salesperson and worked for ACE Realty, she also worked for KZMO Radio Station, KOPI, The California Democrat, Cornerstone Gallery and was a dental assistant. Florence was a member of Moniteau Evangelical Advent Church where she was a church treasurer, in the choir, Sunday school teacher and helped organize the Christmas program. She enjoyed her cats, flowers and taking scenic photography.
Florence is survived by three sons, Darryl Bieri, Russell Bieri and Jeffrey Bieri and wife Tina all of California, Mo.; one daughter, Lorna Bieri of Portland, Ore.; one brother Charles Garber of Sedalia, Mo.; one sister Mary Sterling of Versailles, Mo.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter Paula Harris on July 8, 2010; three brothers Thomas, Glenn and Leonard Garber.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, December 4, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Moniteau Evangelical Advent Church. Officiating was the Rev. Brian Bish. Burial was at the Moniteau Evangelical Advent Cemetery.

BOLDT
John Boldt, 79, of California, Mo., died on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at his residence.
He was born on November 3, 1932 in Elizabeth, Ill., a son of Myron and Eunice (Allen) Boldt, both of whom preceded him in death. He was married in Hanover, Ill., on September 8, 1951 to Jean Bowlin, who survives of the home.
He was a 1950 graduate of Elizabeth High School. He worked for Guy's Potato Chip Company. Later he ran Boldt's Upholstery and drove school bus for California schools. He also drove the OATS bus in Cole County. He was a member of California United Church of Christ, and was a charter member of the Eagle's #4027.
Survivors include one son Terry and wife Sherry of Holts Summit, Mo.; one grandson, Evan of Conway, Ark.; one brother, Duane and wife Kathy of Midvale, Utah; one sister, Donna Gordon and husband Tom of Benton, Wis. He is also preceded in death by three sisters, Velma Spillane, Phyllis Hokenson, and Neva Nesbitt.
There will be a memorial service held graveside on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at California City Cemetery.

BONINE
Mary Ellen Bonine, 66, of Centertown, Mo., passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at her residence.
She was born on February 5, 1945 in Jefferson City, Mo., the daughter of Basil and Marie (Kliegel) Son. She was a 1962 graduate of California High School. She was married June 8, 1963 in St. Martins, Mo., to John Cleveland Bonine whom preceded her in death on July 27, 2006.
Mary worked at the Missouri Department of Revenue for 30 years and retired in 1999. She later went to work for four years with the Jefferson City Country Club. She enjoyed researching the family genealogy, cooking, gardening and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by one son, Brian C. Bonine and wife Candy of Tipton, Mo.; one daughter, Lorrie A. Brauner of Centertown, Mo.; one sister, Deborah Son of Jefferson City, Mo.; three grandchildren, Nicholas Brauner, Kelsey Brauner and Sarah Johnson and husband Matt; two great-grandchildren, Peyton and Taylor Johnson. She was preceded in death by one sister, Joan Son and one brother Richard E. Son.
Funeral services were held on Friday, December 2, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial was in New Hope Cemetery near Centertown. Officiating was Father Ed Schmidt.

DEEKEN
Irene Marie Deeken, 76, of Jefferson City, died Sunday, December 4, 2011, at St. Mary's Health Center.
She was born on April 20, 1935, the daughter of the late Joseph B. and Mary Catherine Terschluse Alfermann.
Irene received her education at St. Francis Borgia Schools in Washington, Mo.
On September 7, 1957, she was married to James P. Struebbe, to this marriage a daughter Jolene Marie was born on May 15, 1960. Mr. Struebbe preceded her in death.
While in Washington, she was Secretary/Treasurer for the AFL-CIO Union and later Purchasing Secretary for Washington Metal Products - SECO Co.
On May 28, 1971, she was married to William John Deeken, Jr. at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Washington, Mo. at which time she became a resident of Jefferson City, Mo.
Irene was employed as a legal secretary for Attorney General John Danforths's office in 1971. She later was employed at Mutual Saving Bank for 24 years from October 2, 1972 through September 31, 1996 when she retired, serving as Assistant Vice President, IRA Administrator and Quality Control Officer of the Loan Department. After her retirement, Irene was able to spend quality time and care for her mother-in-law, Ruby Deeken.
She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church where she was active as a lector, greeter/usher, and as a member of the Ladies Auxiliary where she had served as President.
Irene was General Chairman of Concessions for the Helias Mothers Club for four years. She was a member of Jefferson City Newcomers Club (1971-1972), Jefferson City Chamber of Commerce (1984-1996), Governing Body of Jefferson City Area United Way (1996), and the Jefferson City Republican Ladies Club. She also was on the Staff Leadership Board of the Missouri League of Savings Institutions (1995-1996), Cole County Extension Council (2000-2001) serving as Secretary, Jefferson City Council of Clubs serving as Vice President, and Church Women United for five years.
Irene was active with the Jefferson City Lioness Club serving as President in 1996 and 2005, St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary where she volunteered for Special Events at the hospital, Cole county Republican Club serving as Secretary in 1996, Daughters of the Isabelle, Glennon Circle 322 where she served as Chairman of the Calling Committee, and Vitae Caring Foundation.
A former member of the California Country Club, she enjoyed golfing and swimming. Other hobbies included aerobics, workouts, crafts, and traveling. Irene especially enjoyed going to her grandchildren's functions and just "hanging out" with them.
Irene served as Treasurer for her husband who was a Missouri State Representative 114 District. Irene and Bill enjoyed the time meeting people and the invitations to all the social functions.
Survivors include: her husband, Bill Deeken, Jefferson City; three children, Jolene Struebbe (Jim Miller), Cincinnati, Ohio; Debbie (Steve) Lehman, California, Mo.; Jim (Mary Beth) Deeken, California, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; and 30 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Rose Ann Hanneken; and four brothers, Eddie, Ralph, Elmer and James Alfermann.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, December 9, 2011, at St. Peter Catholic Church.
Entombment will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum.
Visitation will be 3:30-7 p.m. Thursday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 3 p.m.

KUSGEN
Ruby G. Kusgen, 94, of Blackwater, Mo., passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Cooper County Memorial Hospital in Boonville, Mo.
She was born on February 26, 1917 near High Point, Mo., the daughter of William H. and Blanche Mae (Bilyeu) Porter, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married on June 3, 1934, in California, Mo., to Herbert H. Kusgen who survives of the home.
She was a graduate of Prairie Grove Country School and a member of California United Church of Christ. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons, Ted Kusgen of Blackwater, Mo., and Danny Kusgen of Sunrise Beach, Mo.; three daughters, Hulda (Louis) Pollman of Lee's Summit, Mo.,, Lola (Jerry) McCarty of California, Mo.,, and Ruby (Jim) Latham of Denison, Texas; one brother, Melvin Porter of Russellville, Mo.,; two sisters, June Klein of Tipton, Mo., and Opal Ellison of Hallsville, Mo.; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one infant daughter, Nancy Kusgen; one grandson, Kevin Bird; one great-grandson Klint Andrews; seven brothers, Richard, Raymond, Ebenezer, Robert, Kenneth, Cecil and Aubrey Lee Porter; five sisters, Linnie Dutcher, Dora Sperber, Elsie Hohman, Dorothy Russell, and Jane Reimler.
Funeral services were held on Monday, December 5, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at California United Church of Christ. Burial was in Salem Evangelical Cemetery.

LACHNER
James Ray (Jim) Lachner, 66, of California, Mo., passed away at his home on Monday, November 28, 2011.
He was born in California, Mo., on October 25, 1945, the oldest son of Tom Ray and Artha (Mayhew) Lachner, both of whom preceded him in death. He was married on March 11, 1995 to Nancy Birdsong, who survives of the home.
A 1963 graduate of Tipton High School, he was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Tipton. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus #1360 in Tipton. He served in the National Guard from 1967 through 1971. He was self-employed in a commercial mowing service and had previously owned and operated a bulldozing and trucking service.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy, of the home; one brother, Donald (Mary Beth) Lachner, Tipton, Mo.; one sister-in-law, Barbara Birdsong, of Oklahoma City, Okla.; his Aunt Jane Edwards and husband Gene, of Tipton, Mo.; and special cousins, Tom, Danny and Archie Edwards, all of Tipton, Mo., along with other cousins as well.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services in California. Burial was in California City Cemetery. Officiating was Bro. Paul Branstetter.

LYNCH
John Wayne Lynch Sr., 61, of Jefferson City, died Monday, Nov. 28, 2011, at Veterans Administration Hospital in Columbia, Mo.
He was born on July 16, 1950, in St. Louis, Mo., the son of the late Thomas Sterling and Mildred Mae Mahan Lynch.
He was married on Feb. 5, 1972, in Colorado Springs, Colo., to Rita Ann Wieberg who survives at the home.
A U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict where he was awarded two Bronze Stars, Mr. Lynch was employed for over 30 years as an over-the-road truck driver.
He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church; Breakfast Lions Club; Freedom of the Road Riders; Legion Riders; and was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1003.
John especially loved his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and western wear.
Other survivors include three children, Theresa (Michael) Waldrop, California, Mo.; John W. Lynch, Jr., Jefferson City; and Sgt. Larry Lynch currently serving with the Army National Guard in Afghanistan; three grandchildren, Derrek, Jenna, and Brookelynn Waldrop; two brothers, Tom (Patty) Lynch, State of California; and Adam Lynch, Jefferson City; and four sisters, Martha Sapp, Mountain Grove, Mo.; Mary Jean (Tom) Cline, Pontiac, Mo.; Mildred Archer, Jefferson City; and Betty June Lynch, State of Iowa.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. Basil Eruo, officiating.
Burial with military honors was in Resurrection Cemetery.

WOLF
David J. Wolf , 74, of Tipton, Mo., passed away Saturday, December 3, 2011 at his home.
Mr. Wolf was born August 15, 1937, to Sylvester E. and Helen Schmitt Wolf in Tipton, Mo. He married Isabel Kuttenkuler on April 2, 1956 in Tipton, who survives of the home.
He graduated from Tipton High School in 1955. He was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church and the Tipton Knights of Columbus. He worked in the shoe industry working for Weber Shoe Company, Stride-Rite, Boben Mfg. and retired from Ripley Industries in 1994. He refereed basketball games and umpired softball games for 37 years. He devoted many years to helping with youth sports in the community and was one of the founders of Tipton Recreation Association. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the St. Louis Cardinals.
He is survived by his wife of the home, five children-Robin (Mike) Karbalaeali of Elkhart, Ind.; Terri (Gary) Oldham of Syracuse, Mo.; Stuart (Jennie) Wolf of Tipton, Mo.; Karen (Rod) Romig of Tipton, Mo.; and Robert (Melissa) Wolf of Tipton, Mo.; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren and three stepgreat-grandchildren; one brother-John (Diane) Wolf of Sedalia, Mo.; one sister-Mary (Jim) Clifford of Jefferson City, Mo.; one sister-in-law-Janis Wolf of Defiance, Mo..
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, James Wolf and one great-grandson-Kaden Oldham.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Tipton. The body will be cremated.
