The annual Prairie Home Christmas Festival was held Saturday, which included the annual parade and a visit from Santa and one of his elves, as well as numerous activities at Prairie Home School. The PHS junior class hosted a fundraiser dinner in the cafeteria, a craft show was held in the gym, and several contests were held: Best Parade Float Using Theme; Best Decorated Bicycle; Poster Contest; Best Dressed Animal; Most Festive Baby; Cookie and Cake Contest; and the Prince and Princess Contest. Meagan Alpers, chairperson for the festival, said, "Everything went great today. We had wonderful weather considering last year we had sleet and snow. Next year we hope to make the festival even bigger and better."
