Christmas and New Year closings

With Christmas and New Year's Day soon upon us, holidays observed by government offices and private businesses may need to be noted.

This year, the day after Christmas, Monday, Dec. 26, and the day after new Year's Day, Monday, Jan. 2, will be observed by the offices of the U.S.D.A. Farm Service Agency, Natural Resource Conservation and Soil and Water Conservation District.

The City of California offices and Moniteau County Courthouse will also be closed on Monday, Dec. 26, and Monday Jan. 2.

For those who still must pay property taxes, the Moniteau County Collector's office will be open until 4:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23, and Friday, Dec. 30.

The local banks will be closed on Monday, Dec. 26, and Monday, Jan. 2, but plan to be open for regular hours on Saturday, Dec. 24, and Saturday, Dec. 31.

ATM transactions and on-line banking will still be available.

The offices of the California Democrat will close for business at noon Friday, Dec. 23, and will be closed Monday, Dec. 26, for the Christmas holiday.

The offices will also close at noon Friday, Dec. 30, and will be closed Monday Jan. 2, for the New Year's holiday.
