Upcoming Road Work for Mid-Missouri

February 2 - 11, 2011

The following is a listing of general highway maintenance and construction work in the mid-Missouri area for the week of Feb. 2 - 11, 2011. Weather conditions may cause postponements in the work schedule. Other construction or maintenance work may occur on other roadways throughout the area. Many projects will include lane closures and delays can be expected.

Benton County

Daylight Hours

Route 65 from south of Route 52 to just north of the Osage River in Warsaw - Widening highway to four lanes continues.

  • Temporary lane closures on Route 65 can be expected as the contractor removes barrier walls at Truman Dam Access Road and Route HH. Crews will flag traffic through the work areas. The project is scheduled to be complete in summer 2012.

Route 65 between Route 52 west and Mount Olivet Road - Roadway maintenance and repair in the northbound lanes continues through Thursday, Feb. 3. One northbound lane will be open through the work area.

Route 65 between Frisch Road and Zion Church Road - Roadway maintenance and repair in the northbound and southbound lanes will take place on Friday, Feb. 4. One lane in each direction will be open through the work area.

Boone County

Route UU bridge over Sugar Branch Creek, north of River Oaks Road - Bridge maintenance continues through Friday, Feb. 4. One lane will be open an crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Callaway County

Daylight Hours

Route 54 bridge over Gateway Railroad, approximately one mile south of County Road 210 - Bridge deck maintenance in the eastbound lanes will take place Monday, Feb. 7 through Thursday, Feb. 10. One eastbound lane will be open to traffic through the work area.

Route E bridge over Four Mile Branch, south of Route DD - Bridge painting continues through Friday, Feb. 4. One lane will be open and traffic signals will be used to guide traffic through the work area.

Camden County

Daylight Hours

Route A between Route E and Route C - Culvert pipe replacement in various locations continues through Thursday, Feb. 3. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route A between Route C and the city limits of Richland - Culvert pipe replacement in various locations will take place on Monday, Feb. 7. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 54 in Linn Creek at the intersections of Route V and Business Park Road/East Valley Drive - Median turn lane construction and intersection improvements.

  • Grading and drainage work continues for the new Business Park Road and East Valley Drive widening. No traffic delays are expected at this time. This project is scheduled for completion in spring 2011.

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route 54 between the Grand Glaize Bridge to west of Route KK in Osage Beach - Grading, drainage work, paving and bridges for the new Route 54 Expressway.

  • The new Case Road overpass is open to traffic and provides access to Broadwater Road and Oak Road. Traffic signals at Case Road and Route 54 have been activated.

  • The new Jefferies Road is open to traffic. The contractor has some remaining tie-in work to complete and entrances along Jefferies Road to finish as weather permits.

  • Grading, drainage and erosion control work continues from Nichols Road to Jefferies Road.

  • Grading, drainage and erosion control work continues from Route KK to the west end of the project.

  • Asphalt paving continues, as weather permits, on the new service road

from Oak Road to Normandy Road.

  • Asphalt paving continues, as weather permits, on the new service road

from Case Road to Mariner Circle.

  • El Terra Lane is now open to traffic and is accessible from New Burton Duenke Lane off existing Route KK. Asphalt paving continues, weather permitting. Temporary pavement markings will be installed and maintained

throughout the winter. This portion of the project is scheduled for completion in summer 2011.

Route 5 at the Hurricane Deck Bridge - Bridge pier inspections continue through Friday, Feb. 4. Work is being done in preparation for an upcoming bridge replacement project. One lane will be open on the bridge and temporary traffic signals will be in place to assist with traffic control. Motorists should expect minor traffic delays.

Camden and Miller Counties

Daylight Hours

Route 242/Horseshoe Bend Parkway between Lake Ozark Community Bridge and Route 54 - Grading and paving for a new four-lane highway. The contractor is clearing the land and installing erosion control. Excavation began the week of Jan. 31. No traffic delays are expected at this time.

Cole County

Daylight Hours

Route 50 between City View and Route M - Roadway maintenance and repair in the eastbound and westbound lanes continues through Thursday, Feb. 10. One lane in each direction will be open through the work area.

Route 54 Eastbound/Route 63 Northbound at the Missouri River Bridge - Construction of a pedestrian/bicycle bridge attachment continues.

  • Concrete work is taking place on the south end of the pedestrian

attachment substructure.

  • Construction on the steel ramp structure on the north end of the project is complete. Crews are painting and installing fence to the ramp structure.

  • The contractor is fabricating and attaching brackets to the floor beams of the bridge in preparation for securing the new attachment.

  • The following changes are now in place until spring 2011:

  • The Main Street on ramp to the bridge is closed.

  • Lanes leading up to and crossing the bridge are narrowed. Motorists will cross the bridge using three 11 ft. lanes.

  • A concrete barrier is installed across the bridge to separate lanes of traffic from the construction crews and equipment.

  • The shoulder of the bridge, which also currently serves as a pedestrian path, is closed. Pedestrians should also note that no shoulder is available on the U.S. Route 54 westbound/U.S. Route 63 southbound bridge leading into Jefferson City.

  • The speed limit is reduced from 60 mph to 45 mph through the area. The project is expected to be complete in late spring 2011.

Cole and Miller Counties

Daylight Hours

Route AA between Route 54 in Miller County and Scrivner Road, one mile south of Russellville - Culvert pipe replacement in various locations continues through Thursday, Feb. 10. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Gasconade County

Daylight Hours

Route T, two miles south of Route 50 - Culvert pipe replacement will take place on Thursday, Feb. 3. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Maries County

Daylight Hours

Route 63, one half mile north of the Gasconade River Bridge - Rock is being cut back for preventative maintenance of freeze/thaw rock slides during winter months. The contractor will periodically blast rock through February 2011. When the blasting is underway, all traffic on Route 63 will be stopped for short periods. Periodic lane closures will occur and crews will flag traffic through the area. Motorists should expect delays.

Miller County

Daylight Hours

Route 17 bridge over Saline Creek, six miles west of Route 52 - Bridge maintenance will take place Monday, Feb. 7 through Thursday, Feb. 10. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Pettis County

Daylight Hours

Route 65 bridge over Flat Creek, approximately four miles south of Route 50

- Routine bridge inspection in the northbound and southbound lanes is scheduled for the week of Jan. 31. One lane in each direction will be open through the work area.

Route U bridge over Flat Creek, approximately four miles south of Route 50

- Routine bridge inspection is scheduled for the week of Jan. 31. One lane will be open through the work area.
