HOEFT
Nelda K. Hoeft, 70, of California died Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at her residence.
She was born on November 6, 1940 in Doe Run, Missouri, a daughter of the late Rev. John Wesley and Lola Marie Dunlap Thomas.
She was a 1958 graduate of Valley High School in Caledonia, Mo. Nelda worked for Westinghouse from 1972 to 1982 and for Maytag from 1986 until her retirement in 2006. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in California.
She is survived by one daughter, Linda Fay Bond of California; one son, Larry Thomas Hoeft and his wife Patty of Holts Summit; two sisters, Hazel Becker and her husband Floyd of Farmington, and Shirley Ott and husband Bill of St. Louis; one brother, Murphy Lee Thomas and his wife Mary of Farmington; two grandchildren, Janel M. Bond and Robert H. Bond; one special friend and caregiver: Melva Lou Peoples and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 27, 2011, with Pastor Linda Pagel officiating.

STROBEL
Walter W. Strobel, 93, Russellville, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011, at Capital Region Medical Center, Jefferson City.
Survivors include, two sons, Larry (Debbie) Strobel, Jefferson City, and Dale (Beth) Strobel, Lohman; special friend, Bertha Linhardt, Jefferson City; five grandchildren, Aaron (Kate) Strobel, Jonathan Strobel, Brandy Huff, Ashley Huff and Erika (Nick) Brandl and nine great grandchildren.
Services were Monday, Feb. 7, at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Russellville with Pastor Dave Carlson officiating. Interment, with military honors, was in the church cemetery.

WILLIAMS
Mary F. Williams, 77, Ottumwa, Iowa, died Monday, January 31, 2011 at The Good Samaritan Society-Ottumwa.
She was born September 19, 1933 in Jamestown, Mo., to Henry and Frances George Small. She married Robert "Bob" Williams on December 27, 1966.
A resident of California, Mo., most of her life, she had lived in Ottumwa since 2009.
Mary was a cook in several restaurants and nursing homes, and had owned the Amble Inn in Jamestown, Mo.
She attended a Baptist church in her youth.
Surviving are her husband, Bob; two daughters, Faye Jewell of Ellington, Mo., and Kathy Jenkins of Blooming Grove, Texas; a son, Elmer Jackson of Saskatchewan, Canada; nine grandchildren; a brother, Paul Gene Small of Prairie Home, Mo.; a half-brother, Gary Dale Sears of Kansas; two sisters, Shirley Newell of Prairie Home, Mo., and Nadine of Laurie, Mo.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Small.
Her body has been cremated. Memorial services will be at a later date.

WINEBRENNER
June Winebrenner, 88, of Clarksburg, Mo., passed away on Friday, February 4, 2011 at her residence.
She was born on June 14, 1922 in Clarksburg, the daughter of Logan and Audrey (Dunham) Vaughan, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married on January 23, 1943 in California, Mo., to Lloyd Winebrenner who survives of the home.
She was a graduate of Clarksburg High School, where she was active in volleyball, and was crowned Miss Clarksburg in 1938. She was a member of Clarksburg Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years as well as a VBS teacher. She worked as a bookkeeper for her husband's trucking company.
She is survived by two daughters, Lori Hites and husband Jim of Centertown, and Micki Meyer and husband Harold of California; grandchildren Kenneth Rowlette Hites, Grant Zimmerman, Bridget Zimmerman, Adam Zimmerman, Britni Hites, Bailee Hites, Quentin Zimmerman, Lacey Hites; two stepgrandchildren Mary and Mark Meyer; great-grandchildren Taylor and Riley Zimmerman, Kaylee Rowlette and stepgreat-grandchild Ciara Day. She was preceded in death by sisters Nadine Hamlin, Adele Higgins, Vestal Rohrbach, Charlene Emmerich, Arlene Vaughan, and Emma Jean Loganbill; and brothers Norvelle Vaughan and Carol Dwight Vaughan.
Funeral services were held on Monday, February 7, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Clarksburg Baptist Church. Burial was in Hickman Cemetery. Officiating was Rev. Leroy Moon and Rev. David Percival.
