California's Lady Pintos had plenty at stake when they traveled to Wardsville Monday night to battle Blair Oaks for the Tri-County Conference championship, and it was obvious they were not going to give up easy.
With Blair Oaks leading by one point after the first quarter, the Lady Pintos turned up the heat in the second to outscore the Lady Falcons 22-13 for a 37-29 advantage at the half. California would need that edge as Blair Oaks outscored the Lady Pintos 7-6 in the third quarter and 13-12 in the fourth, to hold onto the lead and ultimately the win, 55-49.
