California High School Greenhands Attend Motivational Conference

Area 8 FFA Greenhand members attended a Motivational Conference at Lincoln University in Jefferson City on Tuesday, Jan. 4. This event is sponsored by MFA Incorporated and is organized and presented by the State FFA Officers.

The purpose of the conference is to inspire students to be positive role models, make good choices, and to make a difference in their schools and communities. According to Taylor Bonecutter, a CHS freshman who attended the conference, the best part of the event was "watching the skits performed by the officers."

The skits encouraged the new FFA members to explore the opportunities provided through FFA membership and set goals for their education, careers and FFA experience.

Ag Science I teacher Adam Bieri says he enjoys the conference because "it gives students the opportunity to interact with other FFA members."

In all, the Greenhand Conferences were held in 13 locations throughout the state. Over 24,900 Missouri students are FFA members.
