CORNETT

Jason Andrew Cornett, infant son of Kiesha Cornett and Brian Hook, Eldon, was stillborn on Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010, at St. Mary's Health Center.

Others surviving him include: two brothers, Dalton Woods and Brian Hook, Jr.; two sisters, Angel Gardner and Melanie Hook; grandparents, Steve Cornett and Jaime Cornett, both of Barnett, Melissa Bennett, Eldon, and J.D. Petty, Eldon; and great-grandparents, Norma Mullen, California, and Ron and Wanda Linberg, Linn. One sister, Shelby, preceded him in death in 2001.

Visitation was, Jan. 6, at Rekus Funeral Home, Eldon.

HALDIMAN

Alverta Rose Haldiman, 102, of California, Missouri, passed away Monday, December 27, 2010.

She was born July 10, 1908, the daughter of William John and Adelia Margaret Heinen. On June 19, 1933, she married Paul Roy Haldiman, who preceded her in death on April 4, 1978.

She was a 1926 graduate of California High School and received her teaching certificate from the Central Missouri Teachers College. Alverta was a faithful member of the Annunciation Catholic Church in California Missouri, where she enjoyed being a member of the ladies altar sodality and enjoyed many years of quilting and volunteering her time for church dinners and events. She was a teacher at the Harlan Country School and the Annunciation Catholic School, and worked for many years at Goff's Supermarket in California. Alverta enjoyed gardening and in later years grew many beautiful flowers and tomatoes outside her apartment at the California Senior Housing. Alverta enjoyed taking care of her family. She was a kind, compassionate, and amazing lady with a gift of making everyone who knew her feel special.

Alverta was very proud of her family and is survived by a son, Jack Haldiman, Cottonwood Ariz., two daughters, Dwena Lehman Kueffer, California , Mo., Madelyn (Ron) Kyle, Willard, Mo., daughter-in-law, Doris (Loyd) Fulks, California Mo.; 10 grandchildren, David (Marcia) Haldiman whom she raised, Steve (Debbie) Lehman, Dennis Lehman, Kenny (Jennifer) Lehman, Bob (Michelle) Lehman, California, Mo., Lynn (Dave) Barrett, Lee's Summit, Mo.; Jeff Kyle, Raymore, Mo.; Jim (Stephanie) Kyle, Galena, Mo.; Karla (Andrew) Rues, Pleasant Hope, Mo.; and Denise (Chad) Larson, Arcadia, Wis.; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by one son Dennis Roy Haldiman (June 9, 1984), three grandchildren Jacqueline Haldiman, Jack Earl Haldiman, and Dala Suzanne Haldiman; her sisters Helen Imhoff and Gladys Strickfaden, brothers, William Vincent and Henry Heinen and her parents.

Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, December 31, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Annunciation Catholic Church in California, Mo. Internment was at Annunciation Catholic Cemetery. Officiating was Father Fred Elskamp.

HARVEY

Kiley Pine celebrates her birthday with Heather Cavanaugh

Homer L. Harvey Sr, 81, Boonville, died Jan. 1, at Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital, Columbia.

He was born Feb. 25, 1929 in Marble Hill, son of Alvin A. and May Della Harvey. He was married Nov. 6, 1953, to Mary E. Burger, who preceded him in death Aug. 22, 1990.

Survivors include: two daughters Carla Hamilton, Boonville, and Peggy Harvey, Franklin; one son Homer "JR," New Franklin; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Herschel; and one sister, Hester .

Visitation was Jan. 6, from 6-8 p.m. at Davis Funeral Chapel, Boonville. Services were held Jan. 7, at 10 a.m. at Davis Funeral Chapel. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, New Franklin, with full military honors.

LANG

Ida Ecton Lang, 72, Jefferson City, died Jan. 2, 2011 at the Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born Sept. 16, 1938 in Atlanta, Ga., daughter of William and Clara Popham. She was married Aug. 16, 1980 in Atlanta, Ga., to Paul J. Lang who preceded her in death on July 7, 2009.

Survivors include: two sons, Don Ecton, Jefferson City, and Jeffrey Ecton, Farmington; four stepsons; one stepdaughter; one brother, William Popham, Milford, Del.; a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.

Visitation was at Freeman Mortuary from 2-3 p.m. Jan. 5. Services were Jan. 5 in the Freeman Chapel. Interment is at the Enloe Cemetery near Russellville.
