ZIEHMER
Andree Lee (Murphy) Ziehmer, 64, of California, Mo., died on Friday, November 19, 2010.
She was born on February 12, 1946 the daughter of E. Dorwin and Jeanne Frances (Davis) Murphy, both of whom preceded her in death. Integrity, the importance of family values, and a solid work ethic became foundational traits of Andree. She was married at First Baptist Church of California on June 21, 1964 to Carl E. Ziehmer, who survives of the home.
She was a 1964 graduate of California High School, where she was an honor student. Always striving to improve her abilities to assist others, she pursued advanced education. She graduated in May 1988 with an Associate of Education degree from State Fair Community College. She worked for almost 25 years in California Public Schools.
She also worked for 10 years at the Missouri Baptist Convention in Jefferson City, most recently as the Executive Assistant to the Editor of the Pathway publication. Andree led a solid Christian life. For over 50 years she served the Lord as pianist and organist at various local churches, most recently being called to serve at First Baptist Church for over 20 years. As a wife, mother, grandmother and friend, her encouragement, positive attitude and unwavering love were steadfast qualities.
She is survived by children Carleen Ziehmer of Springfield, Mo., Robert Ziehmer and wife Beth of California, and Edward Ziehmer of Jefferson City; two grandchildren, Emily Lorraine and Lauren Andree; one brother, Patrick D. Murphy and wife Dee; and many other extended family members. Andree's life produced many lasting blessings-her legacy is one of serving others.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of California. Burial was in Crown Hill Cemetery. Officiating was Rev. Greg Morrow and Rev. Don Hinkle.

HAWKINS
Delores (Porter) Hawkins, 66, Columbia, Mo., passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at her residence.
She was born April 10, 1944 near High Point, Mo., the daughter of Robert and Winifred (Stevens) Porter, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married in Columbia, Mo., to Fred Hawkins, January 20, 1963 who survives of the home.
Delores was a caretaker for the elderly. She enjoyed crocheting, puzzle books and loved being with her family.
She is survived by three sons, Robert Hawkins of Sturgeon, Mo., Samuel Hawkins of Centralia, Mo., and James Hawkins of the home; one daughter, Dana McClain of Columbia, Mo.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four brothers and four sisters. She was preceded in death by one brother.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, November 18, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California, Mo. Internment will be at the High Point Cemetery at a later date.

SIMPSON
Kathryn L. (Sack) Simpson, 90, of California, Mo., passed away on Monday, November 15, 2010.
She was born on March 24, 1920 in McGirk, Mo., the daughter of Robert and Lena (Schlup) Voigt, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married on June 19, 1939 to Anthony T. Sack, who preceded her in death on November 3, 1975. She was married on April 7, 1995 to Earl Simpson, who preceded her in death on January 1, 2001.
She was the owner of the Nic Nac Café from 1965-1978 until her retirement. She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ where she served several offices on the consistory.
She is survived by three daughters, Shirley K. Sack, Connie S. Sack, Rita A. Henley with husband Larry all of California, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Craig and Cliff Davis, Christy Beasley, Caris Blackstock, Brad, Rodney and Wyatt Henley; 13 great-grandchildren, Ale Richoux, Corey and Christina Davis, Kaela and Davis Beasley, Breanna, Brant, Morgan, Gracie, Dane, Dylann Henley, Gabi Davis and Jack Blackstock. She was preceded in death by one brother Loyd Voigt and four sisters Velma Summers, Corine Voigt, Opal Zimmerman and Hazel Strickfaden.
Funeral Services were held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California, Mo. Burial was in Salem Evangelical Cemetery. Officiating was Rev. Collette Jones and Rev. Jeffery Hammonds.

Marjorie Leona Pedego 82, formerly of Sandy Hook, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010 at the Gower Convalescent Home, Gower, Mo.
She was born Oct. 2, 1928 in Sandy Hook, daughter of Samuel T. and Marguerite Don Carlos Pedego.
She attended the Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by one sister, Opal Massengale, Lincoln, Mo. Graveside services were held at the Concord Cemetery, Jamestown.

PARDOE
Velda Mae Pardoe, 87, of California, Mo., (formerly of the Latham area) passed away on Monday, November 22, 2010 at St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City, Mo.
She was born June 7, 1923 in Clarksburg, Mo., the daughter of William and Nora Jane Stinson, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married on March 9, 1939 in California, Mo., to Johnny Pardoe who preceded her in death on July 2, 1981.
She was a homemaker for many years before working at Weber Shoe Company in Tipton, Mo. Later she was employed at Cargill in California, Mo., where she retired after 26 years in 1989 and received various awards. She was a lifetime member of Latham Christian Church where she held various offices in the church and in C.W.F. She later transferred her membership to the California United Church of Christ where she was a past member of the Evangelines and Women's Guild. She was a member of the California Area Senior Citizens and served on the board and was Chairperson of Hospitality. She was a member and contact person for the Moniteau County OATS. She received the OATS "Citizen of the Year" award. She graduated as valedictorian of her eighth grade class in Jamestown, Mo.
She is survived by one son, Dean Pardoe of Latham, Mo.; three daughters, Barbara Hofstetter and husband Howard of St. Charles, Mo., Janie Howard and husband Kenneth of California, Mo., and Carol Wolf and husband Kenneth of St. Peters, Mo.; nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; one half-brother William (Bill) Birdsong of Arkansas and one half-sister Frieda McNeal of Kansas City, Mo. She was preceded in death by two half-sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the California United Church of Christ. Burial will be in Latham Cemetery. Officiating was Rev. Collette Jones and Rev. Jeffery Hammonds.
