The bridge on Bird Haven Road is complete and the road is once again open for traffic, only this time drivers don't have to drive their vehicles across the creek.
According to District One Commissioner Tony Barry, the bridge was completed and the road has been in use for about a week. The final inspection and official opening have not yet been done.
From Route N north of California, Bird Haven Road takes off southeast and crosses into Cole County. The bridge replaces a ford which required a vehicle to drive a short distance in a creek bed. Construction of the bridge also required rerouting the road for a short distance.
