The following is a listing of general highway
maintenance and construction work in the mid-Missouri area for Wednesday,
July 6 through Friday, July 15. Weather conditions may cause
postponements in the work schedule. Other construction or maintenance work
may occur on other roadways throughout the area. Many projects will
include lane closures and delays can be expected.

All Counties
Daylight Hours
Mowing of right of way is underway in various locations. Motorists should
travel with care and be alert to slow moving equipment along the roadside.
Benton County in Southwest Region
Daylight Hours
Route 65 from south of Route 52 to just north of the Osage River in Warsaw
- Widening highway to four lanes continues. The contractor continues
working on grading, culverts and pipe work, and roadway construction.
Traffic on existing Route 65 is not affected.
The project is scheduled to be complete in summer 2012.
Route HH between Route 65 and Route E - Partial surface overlay continues
through Friday, July 8. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic
through the work area.
Boone County
Daylight Hours
Interstate 70 between the Missouri River Bridge and Route BB - Concrete
barriers are in place on the eastbound shoulder. Crews are working in the
shoulder area to excavate and repair a portion of roadside fill to prevent
the soil from sliding and damaging the pavement. Both eastbound lanes are
open to traffic during the work. The ramp to Route BB is narrowed. The work
continues through late July.
Route 63 between Route 124 and Route 763 - Roadway resurfacing will begin
in the southbound lanes Tuesday, June 5 through mid-August. One southbound
lane will be open in the work area.
Route 163 (Providence Road) and Route 740 (Stadium Boulevard) in Columbia -
Permit work to improve utilities continues through late September.
- The right turn lane from northbound Route 163 to eastbound Route 740
is closed to traffic starting Tuesday, July 5. Motorists can detour around
the area by using Champions Drive to Mick Deaver Drive to Route 740.
- Monk Drive is closed to traffic at Route 740. Motorists can use
Maryland Avenue or South College Avenue to detour around the area.
- A temporary entrance for employees only has been constructed for the
Veteran's Hospital.
Route F between Route 63 and Route 124 - Partial surface overlay continues
through Friday, July 8. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic
through the work area.
Route YY between Route 124 and end of state maintenance - Partial surface
overlay will take place Monday, July 11 through Friday, July 15. One lane
will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Overnight Hours
Interstate 70 between mile markers 128 and 130 - Concrete replacement in
the eastbound lanes will take place Sunday, July 10 and Monday, July 11.
One eastbound lane will be open through the work area.
Route 63 at Route WW in Columbia - Concrete replacement in the northbound
and southbound lanes will take place Tuesday, July 12 and Wednesday, July
- One lane in each direction will be open through the work area.
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route NN bridge over Lick Fork Creek, three miles west of Route 63 - Bridge
replacement continues. The bridge is closed to traffic through late July.
Motorists are asked to seek alternate routes around the work area. This
project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.
Callaway County
Daylight Hours
Interstate 70 south outer road between Route HH and County Road 257 -
Partial surface overlay will take place on Wednesday, July 6. One lane
will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Route 94 between Route 54 east and the city limits of Rhineland in
Montgomery county - Mowing continues through Friday, July 8. This is a
moving operation and motorists should drive with care through the area.
Route J between Route H and Route MM - Chip sealing roadway surface to
extend pavement life. The operation will take place on Thursday, July 14.
Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for
several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will
sweep the roadway. Drivers should lower their speeds through the area.
Motorists should expect delays. One lane will be open and crews will flag
traffic through the work area.
Route BB between Route 54 and Route AA - Chip sealing roadway surface to
extend pavement life. The operation will take place on Tuesday, July 12.

Camden County
Daylight Hours
Route J between Route 7 and Route U - Partial surface overlay will take
place Monday, July 11 through Thursday, July 14. One lane will be open and
crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 54 between the Grand Glaize Bridge to west of Route KK in Osage Beach
- Grading, drainage work, paving and bridges for the new Route 54
Expressway.
- Traffic on Laguna Beach Road is routed on the service road where they
will access the new Case Road Interchange.
Grading continues from Laguna Beach Road to the Grand Glaize Bridge.
The contractor is placing rock base on the new Route 54 Expressway
from Nichols Road to Case Road interchange.
- Key Largo Road traffic has moved to their new location west of where
they previously accessed existing Route 54.
The new Nichols Road overpass is open to traffic.
The contractor is building tie-ins to the new Route KK. Traffic will
be switched over to the new road location at the roundabout in stages.
Traffic delays can be expected during the traffic switches.
- The contractor will work on the new traffic signal at Jefferies Road
and existing Route 54. Some night work will take place on Route 54 in the
eastbound and westbound lanes. Some traffic delays are expected.
This portion of the project is scheduled for completion late 2011.
Route D bridge over Spencer Creek, 3.3 miles south of Route 54 - Bridge
replacement continues. The bridge is closed to traffic until late July.
Motorists are being detoured around the work area on Route 54, Route 5 and
Route D. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement
Program.
Camden and Miller Counties
Daylight Hours
Route 242/Horseshoe Bend Parkway between Lake Ozark Community Bridge and
Route 54 - Grading and paving for a new four-lane highway.
- The contractor is excavating and placing material on the western end
of the project near the Lake of the Ozarks Community Bridge.
- The contractor will haul material over Fish Haven Road toward the
eastern end of the project near Route 54. Minor traffic delays on Fish
Haven Road can be expected through Friday, July 8.
This project is scheduled for completion in late winter 2011.
Cole County
Daylight Hours
Route T between Route 50 and Route 179 - Partial surface overlay will take
place Monday, July 11 through Thursday, July 14. One lane will be open and
crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Overnight Hours
Route 54 Outer Road (Jefferson Street) between Stadium Drive and end of
state maintenance in Jefferson City - Roadway paving continutes through
Friday morning, July 8, between the hours of 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. One lane
will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Crawford County
Daylight Hours
I-44 from Route H to the Phelps County line - Pavement rehabilitation in
the westbound lanes continues through Friday, July 8. One westbound lane
will be open in the work area.
Route 49 between Route 19 and Route Y - Partial surface overlay continues
through Thursday, July 7. One lane will be open and crews will flag
traffic through the work area.
Crawford and Phelps Counties

Route YY, from Route M in Crawford County to Route 68 in Phelps County -
Partial surface overlay continues through Thursday, July 7. One lane will
be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Gasconade County
Daylight Hours
Route H between Route 19 and Route Z - Partial surface overlay continues
through Friday, July 15. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic
through the work area.
Howard County
Daylight Hours
Route 87, approximately two miles south of Route AA - Roadway maintenance
will take place Thursday, July 7 through Monday, July 11. One lane will be
open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Route Y between Route 124 and Route end of state maintenance - Partial
surface overlay will take place Wednesday, July 13 through Friday, July 15.
One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Route DD, approximately one mile south of Route 5 - Culvert pipe
replacement will take place Wednesday, July 6. The road will be closed to
traffic.
Maries County
Daylight Hours
Route T between Route 42 and Route AA - Partial surface overlay will take
place on Thursday, July 14. One lane will be open and crews will flag
traffic through the work area.
Route JJ between Route T and County Road 205- Partial surface overlay will
take place Monday, July 11 through Wednesday, July 13. One lane will be
open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Miller County

Route A between Route 42 and Route 17 - Partial surface overlay continues
through Thursday, July 14. One lane will be open and crews will flag

will take place Monday, July 11 through Thursday, July 14. One lane will

Sestak Slab low-water crossing on County Road 521, approximately three
miles from
Route T - Replacement of the low-water crossing as part of federal stream
mitigation requirements continues through late August. The road will be
closed to traffic during construction. Motorists are asked to seek
alternate routes around the work area.
Pettis County in Kansas City Region
Daylight Hours
Route 127 between Beaverdam Road and Crawford Road - Culvert replacement
will take place on Thursday, July 7. One lane will be open and crews will
flag traffic through the work area.
Route 127 between Crawford Road and Stokley Road - Culvert replacement will
take place on Friday, July 8. One lane will be open and crews will flag
traffic through the work area.
Route O between Route N and Route HH - Partial surface overlay will take
place Wednesday, July 13 and Thursday, July 14. One lane will be open and
crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Route H between Hughesville Road and Summit Street - Culvert replacement
will take place on Wednesday, July 6. One lane will be open and crews will
flag traffic through the work area.
Route BB between Route 65 and end of state maintenance - Partial surface
overlay will take place on Friday, 15. One lane will be open and crews will
flag traffic through the work area.
Route EE between Route J and Route HH - Partial surface overlay will take
place Monday, July 11 and Tuesday, July 12. One lane will be open and
crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route W bridge over Flat Creek, 4.5 miles south of Route 50 - Bridge
replacement continues. The bridge is closed to traffic through late July.

Route 65 between Route B in Sedalia and Route 53 at the Pettis/Benton
County line - Roadway resurfacing will take place in the northbound and

Pettis, Morgan and Moniteau Counties

Route 50 from east of Sedalia city limits to Tipton city limits - Roadway
resurfacing continues in driving lanes and shoulders through early fall of

I-44 Business Loop at Mile Marker 184 - Clearing and grading work continues
through Friday, July 8 in preparation for the upcoming construction of two
roundabouts. Periodic lane and ramp closures are expected during the work.

Route 17 south between Route 44 the Laclede County line - Partial surface
overlay continues through Thursday, July 7. One lane will be open and

Route 17 between I-44 and Route 17 - Roadway resurfacing will take place

replacement continues. The bridge is closed to traffic until mid July.
