The following is a listing of general highway maintenance and construction work in the mid-Missouri area for Wednesday, July 20 through Friday, July 29. Weather conditions may cause postponements in the work schedule. Other construction or maintenance work may occur on other roadways throughout the area. Many projects will include lane closures and delays can be expected.

All Counties
Daylight Hours
Mowing of right of way is underway in various locations. Motorists should
travel with care and be alert to slow moving equipment along the roadside.
Boone County
Daylight Hours
Interstate 70 between the Missouri River Bridge and Route BB - Concrete
barriers are in place on the eastbound shoulder. Crews are working in the
shoulder area to excavate and repair a portion of roadside fill to prevent
the soil from sliding and damaging the pavement. Both eastbound lanes are
open to traffic during the work. The ramp to Route BB is narrowed. The work
continues through early August.
Interstate 70 between mile markers 111 and 137 - Concrete replacement in
the eastbound and westbound lanes continues through Tuesday, July 26. One
eastbound lane and one westbound lane will be open in the work area.
Route 63 between Route 124 and Route 763 - Roadway resurfacing continues
through mid-August. One southbound lane will be open in the work area.
Route 163 (Providence Road) and Route 740 (Stadium Boulevard) in Columbia -
Permit work to improve utilities continues through late September.
- The right turn lane from northbound Route 163 to eastbound Route 740
is closed to traffic. Motorists can detour around the area by using
Champions Drive to Mick Deaver Drive to Route 740.
- Monk Drive is closed to traffic at Route 740. Motorists can use
Maryland Avenue or South College Avenue to detour around the area.
- A temporary entrance for employees only has been constructed for the
Veteran's Hospital.
Route F between Route 63 and the Harrisburg city limits - Partial surface
overlay will take place Thursday, July 21 through Monday, July 25. One
lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Route V bridge over Silver Fork Creek south of Sturgeon - Bridge
maintenance will take place Monday, July 25 and Tuesday, July 26. One lane
will be open through the work area.
Route Z between Route D and the Centralia city limits - Partial surface
overlay will take place Thursday, July 28 and Friday, July 29. One lane
will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Route YY between Route 124 and the end of state maintenance - Partial
surface overlay will take place Tuesday, July 26 and Wednesday, July 27.
One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Overnight Hours
Route 163 (Providence Road) and Carter Lane in Columbia - Intersection
improvements to increase safety and traffic flow will take place on
Wednesday, July 20. Periodic lane closures on Providence Road and Carter
Lane will occur during the work. After the work is complete, vehicles
coming from Carter Lane or the west outer road will only be allowed to make
right turns onto Providence Road. Motorists on Providence Road will still
be able to make left turns onto either outer roadway. Stop signs will also
be installed on Carter Lane for vehicles passing through the area.
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route NN bridge over Lick Fork Creek, three miles west of Route 63 - Bridge
replacement is nearing completion. The bridge is scheduled to reopen the
week of Monday, July 18. Motorists are asked to seek alternate routes
around the work area. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge
Improvement Program.
Cole County
Daylight Hours
Route 179 between Route C and Edgewood Drive - Grading, drainage, and
bridge paving for a new interchange will begin on Monday, July 18.
Motorists should expect some lane closures. The entire project is scheduled
for completion in the summer of 2012.
Route 50 between City View Drive and Militia Drive in Jefferson City -
Roadway maintenance and repair will take place Monday, July 25 through
Thursday, July 28. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic
through the work area.
Overnight Hours
Route 179 at Industrial Boulevard in Jefferson City - Roadway maintenance
and repair continues through Thursday, July 21. One lane will be open and
crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Cooper County
Daylight Hours
Route O between Route J and Route H - Partial surface overlay will take
place Monday, July 25 through Friday, July 29. One lane will be open and
crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Miller County
Daylight Hours
Route 134 between Route 42 and the end of state maintenance - Roadway
resurfacing continues through early September. One lane will be open and
crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Route A between Route 42 and Route 17 - Partial surface overlay continues
through Thursday, July 28. One lane will be open and crews will flag
traffic through the work area.
Miller and Moniteau Counties
Daylight Hours
Route 87 between Route C and Salem Road - Roadway resurfacing continues
through early fall of 2011. One lane will be open and crews will flag
traffic through the work area.
Moniteau County
Daylight Hours
Route D between Route U and Route O - Roadway resurfacing continues through
Friday, July 22. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through
the work area.
Moniteau and Cooper Counties
