The ACS is hosting the 11th Annual Relay For Life of Moniteau County Survivor/Caregiver Dinner at 6 p.m. Monday, June 13, at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Tipton.
Entertainment will be provided by The Marks family and a special activity is also planned. The ACS will offer a complimentary meal to each survivor, caregiver and guest. Attendees will enjoy Burgers' Smokehouse Ham and Honeysuckle White Turkey, complete with the trimmings.
The Survivor/Caregiver Dinner is a kick-off event hosted the week of the local Relay For Life, the organization's signature activity. Relay offers everyone in the community the opportunity to fight back against cancer.
"We are very excited about this year's Cancer Survivor/Caregiver Dinner," said Rae Ann Shackleford, Event Chair. "We are looking forward to paying tribute to the tremendous personal journey that cancer survivors and patients have been on. Every survivor and caregiver is invited, whether they were diagnosed yesterday or 30 years ago. For the newly diagnosed, Relay offers the opportunity to meet others who have survived the same type of cancer. For those in treatment, Relay provides an opportunity to share with others. For the long-term survivor, Relay brings communities recognition of the struggle and closure to a trying time in their life."
"At Relay, and at the Survivor/Caregiver Dinner, everyone understands the challenges that cancer survivors have overcome and there is peace of mind knowing that together we can face the challenges ahead," said Christina McMillian, Survivor Chair.
Space at the dinner is limited, therefore, reservations are required and must be made by May 31.
