The second annual fly-in of the CalMo Flying Club and Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 429 was Saturday, June 11, at Phillips Field on Airport Road off Industrial Park Road east of California.
The event was an open house at the field and the 2,600 foot grass airstrip which lies in a flat valley between two ridges and features something pilots appreciate-very little crosswind.
There were about 75 in attendance at the event which included a lunch with a main dish of pulled pork sandwiches. Bill Fowler, Lupus, provided the meat. Because of a low cloud ceiling, most actually drove in, especially those arriving from a distance.
