Storm water improvement grant for California

It was announced by the Missouri Department of Economic Development (DED) Thursday, June 16, that the storm water system improvement grant applied for by the City of California has been approved.

The $400,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) will assist with a storm water improvement project in the downtown area of the city. The project includes construction of a storm water system from the post office on High Street south and west to North Street. The project includes installation of large piping and drop boxes to take the water away at a sufficient rate to reduce flooding.
