Mid Mo Ambulance District assists after tornado strikes

At the regular monthly meeting of the Mid-Mo Ambulance Board of Directors Wednesday, June 15, Administrator Lee Kempf reported that the district assisted after recent tornado activity in Joplin and Sedalia.

The Bureau of Emergency Management Services activated the Central Region Strike Team to deploy to Joplin on Memorial Day weekend. In response, The district sent Paramedic Brian Maclean and EMT Marty Ramsdell to Joplin for a 48-hour shift rotation on Monday and Tuesday of that week. They were based at Freeman East Hospital in Joplin. While there they ran seven calls and had five transports. Three transports were long-distance to Arkansas. The others were to Mount Vernon and Nevada.
