Moniteau County Historical Society Ice Cream Social Held

On Saturday, June 25, the Moniteau County Historical Society held its annual Ice Cream Social at the meeting hall located at 201 North High Street. For over 15 years the Moniteau County Historical Society has held an ice cream social which helps with the costs of utilities for the buildings.

Nancy Martin, who helped coordinate the event said members of the society helped donate time to make the chicken and ham salad sandwiches and also brought in cakes and pies which they served along with Central Dairy ice cream and sorbet.

"We had a good supply of volunteers," Martin said. "People come faithfully to our meetings held each month. The turnout was pretty good but we always like to see more come out and see us. We try to not hit on a busy weekend but it is hard not to."
