California High School Math Team Hosts Second Math Contest

The California High School Math Team hosted their second math contest last Satuday, Feb 19. Ten schools attended the contest, bringing 138 students from around central Missouri. Considering the disruption in schedules due to the snow days this winter, it was a very good turnout. In order to prepare for the contest, CHS math team students wrote the tests for the contest, monitored testing, graded tests, and helped record scores to generate the final results. Several parents and teachers were generous with their time by helping to host the hospitality room, grade tests, and record results. In all, 25 tests were administered, with medals given to the top three scorers and ribbons awarded to the fourth and fifth place finishers in each test in each division. In addition trophies and plaques honored the top scorers in each grade and the overall top school in both divisions. Sacred Heart from Sedalia was the top school in Division I and the overall top school in Division II was Camdenton.
