Upcoming Road Work for Mid-Missouri from Wednesday, March 30 - Friday, April 8

The following is a listing of general highway maintenance and construction work in the mid-Missouri area for the week of March 30 - April 8, 2011. Weather conditions may cause postponements in the work schedule. Other construction or maintenance work may occur on other roadways throughout the area. Many projects will include lane closures and delays can be expected.

Benton County

Daylight Hours

Route 65 from south of Route 52 to just north of the Osage River in Warsaw - Widening highway to four lanes continues.

  • Temporary lane closures on Route 65 can be expected as the contractor removes barrier walls in various locations between Route 52 and Route T. Crews will flag traffic through the work areas.

The project is scheduled to be complete in summer 2012.

Route 65 bridge over the Osage River south of Warsaw - Routine bridge inspection is scheduled during the week of March 28. One lane will be open through the work area.

Route 65 between Route 52 and Route 7 North - Roadwork will take place Wednesday, March 30 and Thursday, March 31. One lane will be open to traffic through the work area.

Route 7 bridge over the Truman Reservoir west of Warsaw - Routine bridge inspection is scheduled during the week of March 28. One lane will be open through the work area.

Route MM between Route 65 and Route 83 - Roadway maintenance will take place on Wednesday, March 30. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Boone County

Daylight Hours

Route 740 bridge over Hinkson Creek, just west of old Route 63 - Routine bridge inspection in the eastbound and westbound lanes is scheduled during the week of April 4. One lane in each direction will be open through the work area.

Route 63 bridge over I-70 - Routine bridge inspection in the northbound and southbound lanes is scheduled during the week of April 4. One lane in each direction will be open through the work area.

Route 163 bridge over Hinkson Creek, south of Route 740 - Routine bridge inspection in the eastbound and westbound lanes is scheduled during the week of April 4. One eastbound and westbound lane will be open through the work area.

Interstate 70 Drive Southwest over Harmony Creek, 1.5 miles west of Route 740 - Bridge replacement continues. The bridge is closed to traffic until mid April. Motorists should seek alternate routes around the work area. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Route WW bridge over the North Fork of Grindstone Creek, approximately one mile east of Route 63 - Bridge replacement continues. The bridge is closed to traffic until mid April. Motorists should seek alternate routes around the work area. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Callaway County

Daylight Hours

Route D, one mile south of Route O - Roadway maintenance will take place Wednesday, March 30. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route D, approximately one mile south of Route AB - Roadway maintenance will take place Thursday, March 31. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route 63 near over Cedar Creek, 1.5 miles south of the Boone/Callaway County line -Bridge deck replacement and upgrading guard rail in the northbound lanes is scheduled to begin the week of March 28, weather permitting.

  • Crews will work in the median between the north and southbound lanes. Motorists should expect lane closures in both directions.

  • In early April, the northbound bridge will close until late May. During this time, northbound traffic will be redirected onto one southbound lane.

  • Bridge painting will take place after the bridge reopens, but some lane closures may still be needed to finish that work.

This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Camden County

Daylight Hours

Route 54 in Linn Creek at the intersections of Route V and Business Park Road/East Valley Drive - Median turn lane construction and intersection improvements. Grading and drainage work continues for the new Business Park Road and East Valley Drive widening. Minor traffic delays can be expected as construction equipment hauls material in the Route 54 median. No traffic delays are expected at this time. This project is scheduled for completion in spring 2011.

Route 5 between Route 7 and the Morgan County line - Roadside maintenance will take place in various locations through Friday, April 1. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route 54 between the Grand Glaize Bridge to west of Route KK in Osage Beach - Grading, drainage work, paving and bridges for the new Route 54 Expressway.

  • Traffic on Mariner Circle is being re-routed on the Service Road where they will access the new Case Road Interchange.

  • Grading continues from Mariner Circle to the Grand Glazie Bridge.

  • Contractor is placing rock base on the new Route 54 Expressway from Route KK to the west end of the project.

  • Asphalt paving is scheduled to begin the first week of April on New Nichols Road.

  • Contractor is building the new Route KK bridge while traffic is using exciting Route KK.

  • Traffic is currently using a temporary bypass at Nichols Road and Route KK. Minor traffic delays can be expected as construction equipment accesses these areas.

This portion of the project is scheduled for completion in summer 2011.

Route T bridge over Wet Glaize Creek, approximately three miles south of Route 7 - Bridge replacement continues through late April. The bridge is closed to traffic during construction. Motorists should seek alternate routes around the work area. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Camden and Miller Counties

Route 242/Horseshoe Bend Parkway between Lake Ozark Community Bridge and

Route 54 - Grading and paving for a new four-lane highway.

  • Contractor is excavating and placing material on the western end of the project near the Community Bridge. No traffic delays expected at this time.

This project is scheduled for completion late winter 2011.

Cole County

Daylight Hours

Route 54 Eastbound/Route 63 Northbound at the Missouri River Bridge - Construction of a pedestrian/bicycle bridge attachment is nearing completion. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for Friday, April 8, 10:30 a.m.

Crews are painting and installing fence to the ramp structure.

  • The following changes are now in place until early April:

  • The Main Street on ramp to the bridge is closed.

  • Lanes leading up to and crossing the bridge are narrowed. Motorists will cross the bridge using three 11 ft. lanes.

  • A concrete barrier is installed across the bridge to separate lanes of traffic from the construction crews and equipment.

  • The shoulder of the bridge, which also currently serves as a pedestrian path, is closed. Pedestrians should also note that no shoulder is available on the U.S. Route 54 westbound/U.S. Route 63 southbound bridge leading into Jefferson City.

  • The speed limit is reduced from 60 mph to 45 mph through the area.

Route 50 bridge over the Osage River - Routine bridge inspection in the eastbound lanes is scheduled during the week of April 4. One eastbound lane will be open through the work area.

Route 179 between Route N and the Jefferson City limits - Roadway maintenance and repair continues various locations through Friday, April 8. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through each work area.

Cooper County

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route V bridge over the Petite Saline Creek, approximately two miles south of Route 179 - Bridge replacement continues. The bridge is closed to traffic until mid April. Motorists should find alternate routes around the work area. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Gasconade County

Daylight Hours

Route 19 between Route 28 and the city limits of Owensville - Roadway maintenance and repair will take place Monday, April 4 through Friday, April 8. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Miller County

Daylight Hours

Route 54 over Big Springs Creek, west of Route V - Bridge maintenance and repair continues in the eastbound and westbound lanes through Thursday, April 7. One lane in each direction will be open through the work area.

Route 54 over the Osage River - Routine bridge inspection in the eastbound and westbound lanes is scheduled during the week of March 28. One eastbound and westbound lane will be open through the work area.

Westbound Route 54 bridge over the Osage River - Bridge maintenance and repair in the westbound lanes will take place Thursday, March 31 and Friday, April 1. One westbound lane will be open to traffic through the work area.

Route 17 bridge over the Saline Creek - Routine bridge inspection is scheduled during the week of April 4. One lane will be open through the work area.

Moniteau County

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route E bridge over Dry Creek, just over one mile south of Route 50 - Bridge replacement will begin Monday, April 4. The bridge will be closed to traffic until early May. Motorists should seek alternate routes. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Morgan County

Daylight Hours

Route 50 bridge over the Lamine River, west of Syracuse - Routine bridge inspection is scheduled during the week of March 28. One lane will be open through the work area.

Route 50 between Syracuse and the Pettis County line - Concrete replacement continues through Friday, April 8. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route BB bridge over Richland Creek, approximately one mile west of Route D - Bridge replacement continues. The bridge is closed to traffic until early April. Motorists should seek alternate routes. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Osage County

Daylight Hours

Westbound Route 50/63 bridge over the Osage River - Routine bridge inspection in the westbound lanes is scheduled during the week of April 4. One westbound lane will be open through the work area.

Route 133 at Route EE in Folk - Culvert pipe replacement will take place on Monday, April 4. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 133 at Route B in Meta - Culvert pipe replacement will take place on Tuesday, April 5. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route E bridge over Town Creek, approximately three miles east of Route 63 - Bridge maintenance and repair continues through Friday, April 1. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Pettis County

Daylight Hours

Route 50 between Morgan County line to Route M - Concrete replacement in the eastbound and westbound lanes will take place Thursday, March 31 and Friday, April 1. One lane in each direction will be open through the work area.

Westbound Route 50 over the Osage River - Routine bridge inspection in the westbound lanes is scheduled during the week of April 4. One westbound lane will be open through the work area.

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route E bridge over Dry Creek, just over one mile south of route 50 - Bridge replacement will begin Monday, April 4 and continue through early May. Motorists are being detoured around the work area on Routes B and W. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program

Route V bridge over Spring Fork Creek, east of Route 65 - Bridge replacement continues. The bridge is closed to traffic until early May. Motorists are being detoured around the work area on U.S. 65, Route 52 and Route U. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.
