The youngsters at Kid's World Child Development Center, California, was only one small part of the three million people in 11 states expected to participate in a series of emergency earthquake drills. Called the Great Central U.S. Shakeout, the drills are to help prepare for another large earthquake in the New Madrid Seismic Zone.
