Registration for Red Cross Swimming Lessons set for May 11

The California Recreation Association will host registration for Red Cross swimming lessons 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, at City Hall, California, for children who will be in grades K-8 in the upcoming 2011-12 school year.

The cost to attend is $25 for children in-district and $35 for children out-of-district. (Anyone who does not live in the California R-1 School District is considered out-of-district.)

The following classes will be offered: Level I - first-time swimmer; Level IV - stroke improvement; Level II - fundamental aquatic skills; Level V - stroke refinement; Level III - sroke development; and Level VI - skills proficiency.

Lessons will be divided into three separate sessions: Session 1 - May 31 to June 10; Session 2 - June 13-24; and Session 3 - June 27 to July 8.

Those who cannot attend the registration on May 11 can mail a completed registration form and check to California Recreation Association, P.O. Box 289, California, MO, 65018, postmarked by May 11. (Registration forms will be distributed at California Schools prior to May 11.)
