Readers of all ages will travel the globe this summer as Wood Place Public Library presents "One World, Many Stories" the 2011 summer reading program. Children will explore places such as Antarctica, China, Africa and Mexico through stories, crafts, music, dance and other activities. The program is open to young people preschool through young adult, with weekly programs, prizes and story hours. Families are invited to join the Read-to-Me portion of the program. A Special Tween/Teen program (5th grade and up) will be offered this year with digital photography and Spanish classes held from 2-4 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons during June and July. Pre-registration for these free classes is required.

A special sign-up event "Reading Takes You Places-Book a Trip!" will take place on Saturday, May 21, from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Registration will continue for three weeks.

A special evening program will take place each Thursday at 6:30 p.m. for the 11 weeks of summer reading club.

Free library cards are offered to children in Moniteau County who live outside California city limits. All programs are free and open to the public.
