Ernie and Linda Jennings, pastors at LIFE Church, located at 405 North Owen, California, are looking at reaching out to those in the community. They have been involved in several ministries including street ministries and running prison ministries for 13 years. They also helped save a church in Clifton City which was in danger of closing due to no pastoral leadership. Recently Ernie was also a men's leader at Solid Rock Family Church.
Ernie said he felt called to the ministry while in the service with the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Paratrooper Division. Being raised in church growing up, he said there was always a desire to serve God and he started by being faithful as a teacher. While at a church, Ernie said it seemed there were a lot of individuals who felt called to preach so he fought against it. But through teaching Ernie said it was evident, "the Lord had laid His hand upon me. He called me to do something else and preach. It was definitely something I wanted to know God called me to do. I don't take it lightly. The ministry is a high holy calling."
Linda has heard her husband say on many occasions he is most happy and fulfilled when he is behind the pulpit bringing forth the message to the people. For her going to work everyday was not enough.
