The California FFA traveled to Indianapolis, Ind. Oct. 19-21 to attend the National FFA Convention, where the students heard a motivational speaker who was severely burned in war.

The trip began with students stuck at California High School for two hours because he bus broke down before it arrived at the school. Once in Illinois, they stopped to play laser tag. Upon reaching Ind., they enjoyed a trip to a haunted house that evening.

Early the next morning, students attended the first session at the National Convention where they heard National Adviser Dr. Steve Brown speak, along with motivational speaker Dave Roever.

CHS student Meghan Halsey said, "The keynote speaker told a very inspiring story and he wasn't boring."

After the morning session, students went to the career show where they were able to shop at the mega mall and visit all of the booths.

On the last day of the convention, students visited the Indianapolis Speedway on their last stop before heading home. They rode in a van around the track and listened to the history about the track.

Upon arriving in St. Louis, students stopped at Dave and Buster's for their last bit of fun on the trip.
