The offices in the California City Hall and Moniteau County Courthouse will be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 24 and 25, for the Thanksgiving holiday.
The four-day Thanksgiving weekend is normal for employees of the City of California. The c employees receive 10 holidays each year, including the Friday after Thanksgiving, commonly known as Black Friday for the shopping bargains. Although city holidays generally follow the days designated as state holidays, there are differences. This year the day after Thanksgiving is one of those differences.
The Moniteau County offices are also closed both the day of Thanksgiving and the Friday after. The four-day weekend for the county employees follows a decision made by the other county governments in the area.
