Those in California were able to have a delicious lunch or dinner of chili or ham salad sandwiches along with plenty of sides and homemade desserts at Annunciation Catholic Church, California. The supper, held Friday, Oct. 7, was to raise money for the St. Andrew's Catholic School bus fund. A bus or van travels throughout the school year between California and Tipton, where the school is located.

The fundraiser has been held annually for approximately 30 years. Anita Schroeter has been involved with the fundraiser for 10 years and is also maintains the books for the bus committee.

"It is a very significant fundraiser for us," Schroeter said, 'because each family has to pay an amount to ride the bus. And this event will usually amount to the same funds as if two or three families paid into the bus fund. So it is pretty important."
