California R-I plans to focus on people not things

California R-I School District Superintendent Dwight Sanders reported the school's financial outlook at the regular monthly school board meeting, Wednesday, Oct. 19.

According to Sanders, the district could be a little short in view of the state of the economy.

"We're looking at what we need, not what we want," he said.

With the economy and the outlook for the economy as it is, Sanders thinks school districts need to be concerned with planning for "possible hard times in the future."

The way to go is not to spend money on things but spend it on people.

"Make people the focus," he said, "not things."
