Although the special Labor Day event at Jamestown is always a sign that summer is nearing its end, it became even more obvious as the cool front moved in and dropped the temperature on Monday. Although it warmed up in the afternoon, it was comfortable weather for playing softball and having bicycle races.
The event is sponsored by the Jamestown Lions Club, which marks its 49 year, according to Lions President Gene Cassil. Chester Marshall and Oscar Knierim were Charter members of the Jamestown Lions Club.
