Mary Kay Sommer Lutz, attorney at law, owner of Lutz Law Firm, L.L.C., said she was always interested in law. Growing up in Tipton, she originally commuted from there to the University of Missouri, Columbia, while in law school. At the same time she was also raising two children Kelli and Brandon while married to husband David.

"I have always been very interested in the practice of law," Lutz said. "I just proceeded with doing what it took to be an attorney. It was quite an ordeal going to school while raising two small children. I commuted daily and just had to be dedicated. It was a goal I wanted to achieve and did quite well making the Dean's List all three years."

Lutz said practicing law for the last 24 years has been everything she thought it would be and more. She added the practice of law is something she loves and makes every day new.

"Every case has new issues which are pertinent," Lutz said, "and important. So you get to see a lot of areas of practice, help a lot of people and assist people in righting some wrongs. I find it very rewarding. The practice of law varies tremendously and it is never dull that is for sure."

Lutz said they are a very general practice law firm. They provide services for Moniteau as well as the surrounding counties. They handle family law, estate and will planning, trusts, estate transactions, bankruptcies, some general criminal law including DWI's and speeding tickets. They also provide credit counseling for individuals especially in the area of bankruptcy advising whether to go into chapter 7 or reorganization.
