Freshman California Pintos defeat Osage Indians

The California High School freshman and JV football teams hosted Osage Tuesday, Sept. 6, at Riley Field, where the freshman Pintos captured a 36-14 win.

"We played very well in the first half," California Coach Richard Matzes said regarding the freshman game.

The Pintos were first to score in the first quarter with a 93-yard touchdown by Drew Norton that resulted from an interception. Though the two-point conversion run failed, California led 6-0. Eli Freemen also had an interception, and Walker Borghardt scored on a 27-yard run, then ran in the two-point play, to give the Pintos a 14-0 lead in the first quarter.
