ENLOE

Cindy M. Enloe, 52, California, Mo., passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at her residence.

She was born on March 9, 1960, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Joseph and Crystal (Whelcher) Hartley, both of whom preceded her in death.

She is survived by one son, Zach Enloe of Jefferson City, Mo.; one brother, Joe Hartley; and two sisters, Sharon Kloster and Dickie Connor.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to the choice of the donor.

Goldie Bernice Porter, 88, of California, Mo., passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born on January 19, 1924 in Centertown, Mo., the daughter of Daniel H. and Nettie Augusta (Kirchoff) Cliburn, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married on October 11, 1941 in Sedalia, Mo., to Ebenezer Alonzo Porter, who preceded her in death December 8, 1991.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed raising her family, canning, sewing and flowers. She was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church in McGirk until 1985 then moved her membership to Main Street Baptist Church in California, Mo.

Survivors include: four sons; Ronald Porter, Mitchell (Pat) Porter, Steve (Dale) Porter all of California, Phillip (Mary) Porter of Centertown; one daughter, Blanche Elaine Anderson of California, Mo.; 19 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Truman, Floyd, Edward and David Cliburn; and four sisters, Opal Cliburn, Myrtle Connell, Virginia Miller and Lorene Angerer; one daughter-in-law Nancy Porter; one granddaughter-in-law Donna Porter; and one great-grandchild, Ella Marie Porter.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Main Street Baptist Church in California, Mo. Burial will be in California City Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Eddie Schoeneberg assisted by Rev. Ken Mathes. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California, Mo.

Donald G. Rice, 90, of Springfield, Mo., passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, Mo.

He was born on May 9, 1921 in Callaway County, the son of Guy and Murty Rice. He was married in Marion, Kentucky, on September 20, 1945 to Virginia McNeely Rice.

Mr. Rice attended school in Holts Summit, MO. He was an Army veteran, having served three and one-half years in the European theater. He worked for Central Dairy in Jefferson City, Mo., for 33 years before retiring in 1978. He was a member of Galloway Baptist Church in Springfield, Mo. He was a man of faith and integrity and enjoyed music and always sang in the church choir or led the music. He also served as a deacon and held other positions in his church. Besides being busy with church he loved to work. In his spare time he built the family home in Centertown, Mo., and also the family home in California, Mo. He also helped family and friends with remodeling and helped construct several church buildings.

He is survived by wife, Virginia; one daughter, Phyllis Anderson; one daughter-in-law, Harriett O. Rice; one granddaughter, Carla Kirchner and husband Roger; one grandson, Devon R. Rice and wife Darlene; three great-grandchildren, all of Springfield, Mo. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Michael Dean Rice; one son-in-law, Rev. Carl Anderson; four brothers, Luther, Paul, J.R., and Bobby; three sisters, Hilda Forbis, Bertha Cremer, and Mildred Jones.

Funeral services were held on Monday, April 9, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., at the Bowlin Cantriel Funeral Services. Burial was in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens with full military honors in Jefferson City, Mo. Officiating was the Rev. Dennis Martin assisted by Rev. Ty Harmon.

WRIGHT

Jennie Marie Houghland Wright, 78, of Jamestown, Mo., passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2012, in Sweet Springs, Mo.

Jennie was born March 2, 1934 in Lake County, Indiana to Arthur and Mary Elizabeth Harker Claus.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date at Moniteau Evangelical Advent church.

Survivors include: a son, Art Powers of Sedalia, Mo.; a daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Rick Riedel of Raytown, Mo., seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to the Humane Society or local animal rescue organization.
