New member for California school board

One new member joined the California R-I School Board Monday, April 17, at the regular monthly meeting. The board met on an earlier day to meet the 10-day requirement for reorganization following an election.

Jay VanDieren took a seat as the newest member of the school board, replacing Kathy Goans, who did not seek a second term. Incumbent Paul Bloch retained his seat on the board.

Officers were chosen with the 2012-13 California R-I School Board consisting of Steven Burger - president, Paul Bailey - vice president, Kyle Wirts - treasurer, and members Craig Ash, Paul Bailey, Bloch and VanDieren. Suzie Oliver was elected secretary.
