ATCHLEY
Thelma Rose Atchley, 82, Lebanon, Mo., ended this life's journey and entered the gates of Heaven on April 11, 2012, at her home.
She was born July 16, 1929, in Laclede County, Missouri. On December 20, 1947, she was united in marriage with the love of her life, James Atchley, who survives. The family lived in California, Mo., from 1965 through 1971.
Prior to her passing, Thelma and James had celebrated 64 years of love together. It was rare that you saw one of them without the other.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 14, 2012, at Shadel's Colonial Chapel, Lebanon, Mo., with Roger Marshall officiating. Burial was in Atchley Cemetery.
BAER
Thelma Ellen Baer, 89, Harrisonville, Mo., died April 16, 2012.
Thelma was born February 22, 1923 in Boynton, Mo., the daughter of William Jessie and Edith (Baumgardner) Rodgers. She grew up in the Milan, Mo., area.
Survivors include sons, Rex Baer and Roger Hubbard; and daughter, Pat Brewer.
Services were April 18. Inurnment was in Moniteau County, Mo.

BRANT
Doris June Feist Brant, 80, Clarksburg, Mo., died Sunday, April 22, 2012 at her home in Clarksburg.
She was born April 11, 1932, in Decatur, Ill., daughter of Clarence and Gladys Feist. She was married April 13, 1954, at Jonathan Creek Christian Church, Sullivan, Ill., to Edgar Dale Brant who survives of Clarksburg.
Doris, a teacher of 35 years, taught in several states, countries and at the Tipton schools. She was a very active member at the Clarksburg Baptist Church.
Other survivors include: her children, Michael Brant, with his wife Maggie, of Sacramento, Calif., Patricia Brant Mallinson, with her husband Bill and children Dakotah and Cheyanna, and Paul Feist, with his wife Judy and daughter Heidi, of Sullivan, Ill.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 26, 2012, at 11 a.m., at Clarksburg Baptist Church, with the Rev. Leroy Moon officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 25, 2012 from 5-7 p.m. at Meisenheimer Funeral Home, Tipton.
Memorials may be made to an education fund for her grandchildren.

HUME
Thelma R. Hume, 81, of California, Missouri, passed away April 17, 2012 at California Care Center California, Missouri.
She was born on November 30, 1930, in California, Missouri, to Lloyd and Ollie (Flippin) Bowlin.
Thelma worked at ABB until her retirement. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in California, Mo.
Thelma is survived by: one son, Lloyd "Butch" Hume, with his wife Brenda; one grandson, Shawn Hume. all of California, Mo.; one granddaughter, Brandy Hume Myers, with her husband Gary; one great-grandson, C. J. Myers, all of Lenexa, Kan.; two sisters, Louise Baker and Jean Boldt; one brother, Harold Bowlin, all of California, Mo.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by one infant son, Dale Allen Hume; one brother, Richard Bowlin; one sister, Margaret Weiler.
Graveside Memorial Services will be at 10:30 a.m. at the California City Cemetery on April 28, 2012, with Rev. Greg Morrow officiating.

LIGHT
Ruby Lucile (Higgins) Light, 90, of California, Mo., passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at California Care Center.
She was born on November 14, 1921, in Centertown, the daughter of Archie and Della (Gouge) Higgins, both of whom preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to Robert Wesley Light on June 14, 1941 in California, Mo. He preceded her in death in 1974.
She attended Rock Creek School and was later employed at Oberman & Co. in Jefferson City.
She is survived by one son, Kevin (Lisa) Light of Centertown; one daughter-in-law Connie Light of California; five grandchildren, Ron (Jo) Light of Paris, Mo., Wesley (Kate) Light of Jefferson City, Beth, Jeremy and Shelby Light of Centertown; three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. She is also survived by two sisters, Mary (Jerry) Kirchner, Dorothy (Bill) Larimore and one brother, Clifford (Teresa) Higgins, all of Centertown; one sister-in-law, Virginia Higgins of Centertown; also numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by one son, Larry Light in 2009; two sisters, Pauline Allen and Georgia Bonine; one brother, Clarence Higgins; and one great grandchild.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California, Mo. Burial was in New Hope Cemetery near Centertown. Officiating was Mr. Jack Bowlin.

SCRIVNER
Vinsel D. Scrivner, age 99, of Russellville, died Saturday, April 21, 2012, at Moniteau Care Center in California.
He was an Army veteran, serving his country in World War II.
Vinsel worked for the Cole County Highway Department, retiring in 1978 after 39 years of employment.
He was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church near Russellville.
Survivors include three sons, James C. (Shirley) Scrivner, Russellville, Dr. David L. (Dr. Joyce) Scrivner, University City, and Donald D. (Debbie) Scrivner, Jefferson City; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alva and Louise Schneider Scrivner, his wife, Gladys Althoff Scrivner and one sister, Delphine Campbell.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 25, at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Interment, with military funeral honors, will be in the Enloe Cemetery west of Russellville.

STERLING
Billy R. Sterling, 84, of Tipton, passed away Friday, April 20, 2012, at Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles, Mo.
Mr. Sterling was born June 8, 1927 in California, Mo., to Lloyd and Linnie Vaughn Sterling. He was married June 30, 1951 to Mary Barbara Garber in Tipton, who survives.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tipton. He worked at the phone company in the Tipton area until his retirement. He was a charter member of the Tipton Country Club. He enjoyed fishing, playing golf, and traveling in his motor home. He loved the Missouri Tiger basketball and sprint car racing. He ran Sterling Saw Sharpening Service. He enjoyed traveling to Mesa, Ariz., during the winter months.
Survivors include: his wife of Good Shepherd Care Center; one daughter, June (Jim) Nivens of Tipton; one grandson, David (Sara) Nivens of Columbia; one granddaughter, Nana (Matthew) Prange of Marilyn Heights, Mo.; three great-grandchildren, Owen Prange, Sterling and Audrey Nivens; one brother, Mike (Donna) Sterling of California, Mo.
Memorial services for Mr. Sterling will be Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Tipton.
Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of Service at First Baptist Church in Tipton.
