The following is a listing of general highway maintenance and construction work in the mid-Missouri area for Wednesday, April 25 through Friday, May 4, 2012. Weather conditions may cause postponements in the work schedule. Other construction or maintenance work may occur on other roadways throughout the area. Many projects will include lane closures, and delays can be expected. MoDOT reminds the public to buckle up, slow down, follow posted signing and drive safely through work areas. Boone County
Daylight Hours/Overnight Hours
Route 63 from just north of Route 163 to Route H - Construction of a new diamond interchange and southbound lanes. Motorists should expect periodic lane closures.
The Route 163 crossover north of the overpass construction is closed to allow the contractor to construct the two new southbound lanes of Route 63. Motorists will need to use the next available crossover or overpass to the north and south to access the northbound lanes of Route 63. During this construction period, the speed limits for both the northbound and southbound lanes of Route 63 will be reduced to 60 mph during working hours.
Route H is temporarily closed at U.S. 63. Traffic is being detoured to Hardwick Lane, located near the U.S. 63 roadside park. Route H will remain closed at U.S. 63 until the new interchange opens to traffic.
The contractor continues with bridge construction at Turkey Creek and at Route H.
Motorists should be prepared for periodic reductions in speed limits through the work area.
The entire project is scheduled for completion in late 2012.

Route WW between Route 63 and the Callaway County line - Culvert pipe replacement in various locations will take place on Thursday, April 26. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Callaway County

Route PP bridge over Middle Creek west of County Road 470 - Bridge replacement is under way. The bridge is closed to traffic through late May. Motorists are advised to find an alternate route around the construction. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Route 54 between Interstate 70 and Route HH - Roadway maintenance in the eastbound and westbound lanes will take place Tuesday, April 24 through Thursday, May 3. One lane will be open through the work area.
Route D between Interstate 70 and Route K - Roadway maintenance continues through Thursday, May 3. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Camden County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 54 at the Route 5 Interchange in Camdenton - Sidewalk construction and ramp widening is under way.
Traffic has been shifted to accommodate the installation of temporary barrier curbs in preparation for sidewalk construction across the U.S. Route 54 overpass bridge.
Motorists should expect lane closures and the narrowing of U.S. Route 54 traffic lanes through the interchange area during construction. Minor delays are possible.
The entire project is scheduled for completion in mid-May.

Route E between Route 7 and Route A - Culvert pipe replacement in various locations continues through Thursday, May 3. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Cole County

Route 54 between Old Bass Road and Route CC - Improvements at 12 intersections along 8.5 miles of U.S. 54 to improve safety and traffic flow.
- Crews are working off the roadway at Buffalo Road and installing lighting in various locations. Work to install lighting will take place on the shoulder of the roadway. The entire corridor is scheduled for completion in fall 2012.
Route 179 between Route C and Edgewood Drive - Grading, drainage, and bridge paving for a new interchange. Periodic lane closures may occur, and motorists are advised to use caution through the area. The entire project is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2012.
Cooper County
Overnight Hours
Interstate 70 between mile markers 101 and 106 - Concrete replacement in the eastbound lanes will take place Wednesday, April 25 through Thursday, May 3. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Daylight Hours
Route 41 bridge over the Lamine River, north of Interstate 70 - Bridge maintenance continues through Thursday, May 3. The weight restriction on the bridge has been reduced to 15 tons. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Route O bridge over Moniteau Creek, south of Swan Road - Bridge maintenance continues through Thursday, May 3. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Crawford County

Route N bridge over the Bourbon River south of Bourbon - Bridge replacement is under way. The bridge is closed to traffic through late May. Motorists are advised to find an alternate route around the construction. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Route MM between Interstate H and the end of state maintenance - Culvert pipe replacement in various locations continues through Thursday, April 26. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
Crawford, Phelps, Pulaski and Laclede Counties

Interstate 44 between Route 19 in Crawford County and Route 5 in Laclede County - Roadway striping will take place during the week of April 23. One lane will be open to traffic through the work area. This is a moving operation, and motorists should drive with care through the area.
Dent County

Route 32 bridge over Spring Creek in Salem - Bridge replacement is scheduled to begin the week of April 30. The bridge will be closed to traffic through late June. Motorists are advised to use a nearby bypass or find an alternate route around the construction. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.
Route NN bridge over Dry Fork Creek west of Route F - Bridge replacement is under way. The bridge is closed to traffic through early June. Motorists are advised to find an alternate route around the construction. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.
