Department of Conservation Managing for Fish and Birds in the Moniteau Creek Watershed

The Conservation Department has identified the upper Moniteau Creek watershed as an example of an area that has good water quality and wildlife habitat, and is interested in helping landowners that want to further protect that water quality and enhance the wildlife habitat on their property.  Assistance can be provided to landowners who wish to plant trees along their streams, fence livestock out of streams, address stream bank erosion, improve their haying and grazing land, or improve upland wildlife habitat Additional cost share funds are available to assist qualifying landowners with activities designed to improve water quality and upland bird habitat. If you own property in the shaded area on the map, give Scott Williams or Eric Niemeyer a call to learn more about the focus area and what we can do to help you reach your goals. Missouri Department of Conservation, California Field Office (573) 796-0286 ext. 24 or 22.
