Gov. Jay Nixon visited Clarksburg Farms and checked out a new cost-share water well Wednesday, Aug. 15.

The well is on a livestock operation owned by Charles and Carol Rackers.

The governor was on hand to survey the well and to hear from family farmers about the need for water and how the water access projects are working.

The Rackers' well was drilled as a part of the governor's program for relief for farmers whose livestock has been suffering because of the lengthy drought. See this week's California Democrat for more of the story.
