Burgers' Smokehouse celebrates 60 years

Workers were honored during 2012 to celebrate Burgers' Smokehouse's 60th anniversary.

President Steven Burger said of the many factors which contribute to the success of the company, at the top of the list are the loyal, dedicated employees who are at their respective jobs day in and day out.

Company management, along with Mary and Bob Keil, planned meals during the year to include barbecued hamburgers, fried chicken, fried fish, barbecued steak, chili and a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Side dishes and company mementos accompanied the meals.

The month of October included a 60th birthday buffet dinner, hosted by management and held at Donita's Catering in Jefferson City, for fellow workers with service of 10 years or more.

Fried chicken and country ham luncheons were held for employees with five to ten years at Steve's Restaurant in Lohman.

Honoring the company's birthday, a video, created by Callie Fletcher and Cathy Hickman, was shown at the meals.
