Randy Robertson joined the coaching staff at Russellville High School Dec. 27 as the boys head basketball coach following the termination of Chris Leuckel.
Stepping in as head coach mid-season left Robertson with no time to waste. "I watched the boys play at the Missouri National Guard Shootout on the 27th, then we had two practices before the Chilhowee game Dec. 30 at the Otterville Tournament."
The transition actually started off on a high note as the Indians defeated Chilhowee 41-37 to claim their second win of the season, which was Robertson's 400th career win.
Officially retired as of last year, with 31 years of experience under his belt, Robertson's goal as the Indians' coach is simply to help them get better.
