Saturday, Jan. 28, the California Speech Team competed at the Knob Knoster Speech Invitational in 11 categories. This was the sixth speech competition of the year for CHS. They placed fourth overall against eleven other schools.

Each school could enter up to four students in the Rock Paper Scissors Tournament. Caitlin Dummermuth placed second and Courtney Kilmer placed fourth. Meisenheimer not only took first place in Poetry and Dramatic Interpretation, but all three judges in the final round for each event ranked her as first unanimously.

Representing CHS were Abbi Fast, Ashlee Davis, Audrey Imhoff, Caitlin Dummermuth, Corina Castillo, Courtney Kilmer, Dylan Ramey, Haley McMillian, Justin Mitchell, Kassi Meisenheimer, Kim Summey, Kristen Dummermuth, Maria Banda, Nate Burkett, Patricia Garcia, Regan Downing, Sarah Couchman and Walter Juarez.

"At each competition members have volunteered for new events, and they all continue to improve throughout the season," said senior Ashlee Davis. Even though it was late in the season, the team had two members join and compete for the first time at this tournament.
