Lady Pintos take Lady Pirates out 59-47

The Lady Pinto basketball teams hosted Fatima Thursday, where after trailing by 11 points at the half, California's varsity girls turned up the heat in the second half to defeat Fatima 59-47.

The Lady Comets led 17-6 after the first quarter and 28-17 at the half. California upped the ante in the second half to outscore the Lady Comets 21-5 and 21-14 and post the win.

PLAN OF ACTION - Though the developer has waited five years for permission to start on the Shoppes at North Hills project, he is expecting to begin construction this summer.

Elle Miller led California with 27 points, followed by Holly Wolfrum with 10.

Fatima was led by Lauren Allen with 26 points, who was followed by Morgan Brandt with 10.

"The girls played possibly the best second half of the season," California Coach Bobby Sangster said. "Down 10 plus points at halftime, we stormed back to win the game by 12. The girls played an unselfish style that we've been working towards all season. They made each other better in the second half and we were able to gut out the victory."
