Homemade pork carnitas, tortillas, beans, rice, Tres Leche cake and other goodies were served at the Pedia-Cure Authentic Mexican Meal Fundraiser held Sunday, Jan. 29, at California Nutrition Center. Deanna Perez, whose daughter Kelsey lost her life to cancer, and Angel Geiser, whose son Jordon has been battling cancer, have come together to form the Pedia-Cure Relay for Life team which is the only local team focusing on pediatric cancer and its affect on families.

"The meal is our kickoff and introduction to the community," Geiser said. "We are raising money for the Moniteau County Relay for Life/American Cancer Society (ACS). We hope this brings out people in the community to see we are here to help make people aware of the effects of pediatric cancer."
