Anna Ewers, owner of Midwest Title and Escrow, LLC, had worked with Carolyn Kiesling for over a decade and when she started the new business, wanted her to join. When she asked Kiesling to join the new company, Kiesling initially turned down the opportunity, as she wanted to stay in California where she was from. When the opportunity to open a new branch of Midwest Title and Escrow, LLC, in California arose, Ewers thought who better to manage it than Kiesling.
"When myself and a few others started Midwest Title out of Jefferson City," Ewers said, "in April 2009, our whole goal was to turn the title insurance business back into a community focused business as opposed to a box style store or franchise run out of a corporate headquarters somewhere else. The community aspect is the most important thing in this business in my opinion. Community involvement is more important than ever these days. Title insurance is something not clearly understood by the large population. It is cost incurred when purchasing or refinancing a house, it is very important to the process, but not terribly understood. So for us, being involved with the community itself and putting ourselves out there is a must. And that is something which is Kiesling's strong suit. That is why I wanted her for Midwest Title because she is so community focused and organized and involved so we thought she would be a great addition if we ever had an office in California."
