Following a "courtesy check" by the IRS, and a statement that "Board members are considered employees," the board requested further investigation on the issue of board members reimbursement.
At the regular monthly meeting, Wednesday, July 11, Office Manager Brenda West informed the board of the IRS visit. West was told the board members could no longer be paid $25 per meeting by monthly check. The small payment, which is legal by state statutes, became effective Dec. 1, 2011, by a vote of the board at the November 2011 meeting.
