Philip Scott Goldammer, 41, of Lohman, Mo., passed away July 11, 2012, at his home after fighting a courageous battle with cancer.

Philip was born in Jefferson City, Mo., on January 25, 1971, son of Otto S. (Junior) Goldammer and Shirley Mae Platter who survive.

He graduated from Cole Co. R-I High School in Russellville, Mo., in 1990. Philip married Linda Marie Welty on May 21, 2005 at Silver Dollar City's Wilderness Church, Branson, Mo., and she also survives.

A lifelong resident of Cole County Russellville area, Philip worked for the Cole County Public Works department starting his employment in 1990 as a maintenance worker and in 1997 was promoted to a heavy equipment operator II. Philip was a member of the Russellville-Lohman Fire Protection District since he was a teenager, moving up the ranks to property officer and to the rank of captain. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Russellville. Philip loved his family and loved to farm at his Dad's place with the John Deere tractors. He had his own business, Goldammer Bob-Cat and Fencing and he enjoyed hunting, fishing and just being out of doors. He was a true friend to all who knew him.

Survivors include: his parents; his wife; five sons, Cody and Justin Goldammer, Tyler and James Strauch and Travis Kempker; one daughter, Emily Goldammer; one sister, Sharla Brewer; and many other friends and relatives.

A memorial service was held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 14, 2012, at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Russellville, with the Rev. Carl Gaulk officiating.

KNIERIM

Helen Knierim, 84, of Prairie Home, passed away at Cooper County Hospital on Friday, July 13, 2012.

Helen Marie Scott Knierim was born in Moniteau County, Oct. 15, 1927, the daughter of Emmett Scott and Bessie Rosenmiller Scott. Her mother, Bessie, had passed away when Helen was 3 years old. Helen had taught school at the Pisgah one room school. Helen married James Knierim November 28, 1946 and they farmed their whole lives, until his death in 2001.

She was a farmer's wife who loved the outdoors and any activity relating to the outdoors. She was a member of the Pleasant Grove United Church of Christ. Helen was very active in the Prairie Home community and had been instrumental in the success of the Prairie Home Fair for 60 years. She was active in the Cooper County Historical Society and she was the historian for the Prairie Home Alumni Association for many years.

Mrs. Knierim was preceded in death by her parents and by her stepmother, Frances Lohse Scott and by her only sister, Mary Brandes. She is survived by her daughter Ginger Royston, of Salisbury, Mo.; her grandson, Daniel Royston (Amy); and great-grandson, Jackson Royston, also of Salisbury. Her sisters-in-law, Margaret Knierim, Ruth Cassil and Wilma Kneirim; and brother-in-law, Oscar Knierim, also survive. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at Davis Funeral Chapel on Monday morning, July 16, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Chester Marshall officiating. Burial followed at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, at Prairie Home.

Memorials are suggested to that of the donor's choice.

Edna M. Smith, 91, passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2012, at Moniteau Care Center in California, Mo.

She was born September 18, 1920, near Lupus, Missouri, daughter of Porter and Emma (Dietzel) Brizendine. She was married February 28, 1938 to John M. Smith, in Boonville, Mo., and he preceded her in death January 14, 1992.

Edna was a homemaker and member of the California Methodist Church. She had also been a member of Lupus Baptist Church and Jamestown Methodist Church. She taught Sunday school for many years in Lupus and Jamestown churches.

Survivors include one son, Donald D. Smith and wife JoAnn of Jefferson City, Mo.; four grandchildren, Courtney Smith-Tsao and husband Kuojen, Aaron Smith, Allison Smith, and Douglas Smith; daughter in law Faye Smith-Vessell, and husband Randy; and two great-grandchildren Oliver and Penelope Tsao. She was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Tommy Gene Smith who passed away October 20, 1987; and four sisters; and five brothers.

Funeral Services were held at 10:30 a.m., on Monday, July 16, 2012, at the Roll Funeral Home Chapel in California. Burial was at the Jamestown Methodist Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Jamestown Methodist Cemetery.

Robert R. Threlkeld, 86, of Macon, Mo., passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at Macon Health Care Center in Macon.

Robert was born on January 22, 1926, in Oklahoma City, Okla., the son of Harold and Lotus (Smock) Threlkeld. He served his country in the U. S. Navy during WWII and later with the Merchant Marines.

Robert was united in marriage to Marilyn Roads on November 16, 1948, in Shelbina, Mo. Robert served in the Missouri State Highway Patrol from 1950 until he retired in 1983. He had attended the First Baptist Church in Macon. Robert enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, metal detecting, collecting and polishing rocks, and especially spending time with his family and friends.

Robert is survived by his two children, Suzanne Keith and her husband Billy of Chillicothe, Mo., Jill McGuire and her husband Donnie of California, Mo.; three grandchildren, Shelley Staton and her husband Jeff of Chillicothe, Lindsay Barnes and her husband Josh of Kansas City, Mo, Emily Schreck and her husband Matt of California; seven great-grandchildren, Trace Staton, Emerson Staton, Jace Schreck, Jackson Schreck, Carson Barnes, Hayden Barnes, and Dillon McGuire, and close friend, Lola Miller of Macon.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marilyn; one grandson, Dane Threlkeld McGuire; two brothers, Bill Gilbert and Charles Gilbert.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 14, 2012, at the Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Bolin officiating. Burial, with full Military and Missouri State Highway Patrol honors, was held in Shelbina Cemetery in Shelbina, Mo.

The family suggests memorials to the Missouri Association of State Troopers Emergency Relief Society or the Samaritan Healing Gardens.
