Business teacher Stephanie Muri is retiring after 37 years of service at Prairie Home School.

Though her duties might have changed a little over the years, Muri's dedication and commitment to the school, students and community has always been in the forefront.

Through her numerous roles and responsibilities at PHS through the years, Muri has conveyed her desire to make a difference.

When she was hired as the business teacher in Aug. 1975, Muri taught typing, shorthand, accounting and secretarial practice.

"We had manual typewriters and three electric typewriters," she said. "I no longer teach shorthand or typing. We use computers now and I teach Computer Applications, Junior High Keyboarding, Business Technology, which is High School Keyboarding, Personal Finance, Careers, Accounting and Desktop Publishing."
