MRED - need to market entire county

Ken Parrett, executive director of Moniteau County Regional Economic Development Council (MRED), spoke of inviting representatives of Tipton and California Chambers of Commerce to a future meeting of the economic development organization.

"We need to try to market all of the county," said Parrett.

Updates were presented even though no vote could be taken due to the lack of a quorum.

No recent contact has been made concerning the MFA Biomass project. There is still work on establishing it in the southern part of the state. Planning continues for development in the area of the Highway 50 bypass at Highway 87. Co-Mo Electric continues to work on Broadband. Parrett reported the company may be putting its main operations in the old Nordyne building.
