Jamestown faced Tuscumbia Feb. 28 in first-round action at the Class 1 District 9 Boys Basketball Tournament at St. Elizabeth, where the Eagles ended the season with a 64-28 loss to the Lions.

Tuscumiba, the #3 seed, led 26-7 after the first quarter and 38-24 at the half. The Lions outscored Jamestown, the #6 seed, 11-2 and 15-2 in the second half to take the win.

"We fell behind after the first quarter due to turnovers against their pressure defense," Jamestown Coach Ronnie Conner said. "We came back with a strong second quarter and outscored them 17-12, but were outscored 26-4 in the second half."
