A new omni-directional siren has been installed in Jamestown just in time for the tornado season.

The new warning siren was installed Tuesday, Feb. 28, on the north side of the parking lot across from the city fire station of the Jamestown Fire Protection District (JFPD), with the assistance of Ameren Missouri personnel and equipment.

According to Steve Cearlock, of Outdoor Warning Consulting LLC, an omni-directional Whelen siren "covers everybody in 360 degrees with no moving parts."
